Hong Kong's female senior officials, dressed in traditional Chinese-style attire designed by Hong Kong Design Institute students at the National Day reception, expressed their support for local youth designers.
According to a social media post by Secretary for Housing Winnie Ho Wing-yin, she received an impromptu guzheng lesson from Secretary for Education Choi Yuk-lin during the photo session.
Ho noted that the combination of traditional attire and the guzheng created a uniquely captivating atmosphere.
Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak Mei-kuen expressed gratitude to the students for their dedication to creating the traditional attire, which added exceptional flair to the National Day celebrations.
Mak also voiced hope that the public would support local designs, enabling traditional aesthetics to be preserved and passed on through innovation.
Meanwhile, Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan praised the elegant style of the clothing, noting that their "three-way wearing" feature allows for versatile styling, making them "both stylish and practical."
Chan visited MTR stations to show support for frontline staff and reminded citizens to participate in a lucky draw offering a total of 76,000 MTR electronic single journey tickets.
She also visited the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence, where she engaged with young aviation and maritime enthusiasts.
