To celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong has launched a series of special offers and activities, covering transportation, entertainment, and dining for the public.
Free rides on the tram and 76,000 free MTR e-single journey tickets to distribute
Free Transportation
- All passenger tram routes
- Star Ferry Route from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central
- Ferry Services from North Point to Kowloon City
- Fortune Ferry will distribute a total of 2,000 free tickets for the Central-Hung Hom route and the North Point-Kwun Tong-Kai Tak route.
- Children using designated payment methods can ride designated daytime bus routes of KMB, Long Win Bus, Citybus, and New Lantao Bus for free.
MTR
- Give away 76,000 e-single journey tickets to the public through a lucky draw.
- The prizes include 60,000 domestic single rides, 10,000 single rides to/from Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations, and 6,000 Airport Express single rides in designated periods.
- MTR Malls will offer HK$12 million worth of e-Coupons
Each MTR Mobile member account can participate in the lucky draw with a chance to win a prize from 9am to 6pm on October 1 2025.
Winners will receive a promotion code via the "My Collection" in MTR Mobile on or before October 9 2025.
The promotion code must be used on or before January 2 2026 and will be invalid after expiry. The redeemed free Airport Express Single Journey Ticket must be used within 92 days from the date of redemption.
Half-priced movies and National Day leisure activities
Half-priced movies
- The city will be offered at half price, supported by government subsidies covering 50 percent of the cost.
Free admission is provided by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department
- Free admission to venues, including Hong Kong Wetland Park and the regular exhibitions at the Hong Kong Science Museum and the Hong Kong Space Museum.
- Special exhibition "Engaging Past Wisdom: Min Chiu Society at Sixty-five" at the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
- Additional free guided tours, dining, consumption, and accommodation offers will be provided from mid-September to late October by the 14 projects under the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme.
- Leisure and cultural facilities are free of charge on October 1
National Day Raceday
- Free entry to public areas at the Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses
- Food and beverage discounts will be available.
Ngong Ping 360
- Children can receive a 24 percent discount on Ngong Ping 360 cable car rides.
Ocean Park
- A 15 percent discount on general admission from October 1 to 5.
Special souvenirs will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at Tai Kwun, The Peak Tram, and Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
Fireworks and celebrations
The holiday celebration started with a flag-raising ceremony at 8am at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai. This was followed by a helicopter formation flypast by the Government Flying Service over Victoria Harbour at 9am.
A large-scale fireworks display over the harbour, themed "Victoria Harbour Fireworks Shine Across the Motherland," featuring more than 30,000 pyrotechnic shells will be held at 8pm on October 1.
A cultural performance will be held in the evening on October 2.
Dining and shopping specials
- Over 1,000 restaurants and merchants—including Men Wah Bing Teng and Asam Chicken Rice— will provide dining offers.
- Several public markets, under the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department, will also roll out different offers.
- The West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong International Airport, Science Park, along with over 100 shopping malls and several department stores as well as the Jockey Club and the Trade Development Council, will roll out shopping, dining, consumption or parking offers.
- From October 1 to 7, members of the public can enjoy a 24% discount when purchasing selected products at the "Local Fresh" physical store, online store or mobile app.
- The Environmental Protection Department will offer double GREEN$ Points to the public who recycle at its community recycling network GREEN@COMMUNITY on October 1.
