ASMPT CEO and executive directors to step down in May

ASMPT (0522) said its chief executive and executive director Robin Gerard Ng Cher-tat will step down in May.

Ng plans to devote more time to his family and to focus on new personal pursuits, according to a filing on Tuesday. 

He will not seek re-election upon the conclusion of his term as a director at the annual general meeting to be held on May 7 but will remain as the CEO to ensure an orderly and seamless transition pending the appointment of his successor.

The company has initiated a comprehensive search to find a successor to Ng, and a further announcement will be made as and when appropriate, it said. 

Another executive director Guenter Walter Lauber will also step down after reaching retirement age, it added.
