The opening segment, “Galloping into the New Year,” will set an energetic tone with high-density bursts resembling charging horses. The sky will then light up with the auspicious numeral “8” and shimmering golden patterns, symbolizing wealth and prosperity.
Another scene will feature star-like fireworks drifting across the harbor, evoking galloping horses and representing love and hope.
The display will culminate in the finale, “Triumphant Achievement,” where crown-shaped fireworks will be followed by rapid-fire, high-density bursts, sending wishes for national prosperity and good fortune.
Prime viewing spots include both sides of Victoria Harbour, such as Tsim Sha Tsui, Mid-Levels, Central, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, and Hung Hom.
Spectators are encouraged to tune in to Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 4 (FM 97.6 to 98.9) for synchronized music during the show.
HKJC marks Lunar New Year with harbor lights and Sha Tin raceday
The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), exclusive sponsor of this year’s Lunar New Year fireworks display, is rolling out a series of celebrations to mark the Year of the Horse.
For the club, the horse carries particular significance, symbolizing perseverance and strength — qualities it says reflect Hong Kong’s enduring “can-do” spirit.
HKJC will take part in the International Chinese New Year Night Parade on February 17, the first day of the Lunar New Year, joining citywide festivities.
On February 18, ahead of the fireworks display over Victoria Harbour, the skyline will light up with the letter formations “HKJC” and “WIN” to usher in the new year.
The celebrations will also extend beyond Hong Kong, with the club supporting drone shows in Conghua and Shanghai.
The festivities will culminate on February 19 with the 2026 Year of the Horse Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse, featuring a full program of races and activities for racing enthusiasts and visitors.
