Hong Kong Robotics expands partnership with CloudMinds

Hong Kong Robotics (0370) announced an exclusive licensing agreement with mainland robotics firm CloudMinds to acquire nearly 2,000 embodied artificial intelligence patents and intellectual property rights. 

The partnership aims to jointly promote local humanoid robot manufacturing in Hong Kong, targeting the elderly care, companionship, and property management sectors.

Huang Xiaoqing, founder of CloudMinds and chief scientist of Gangzi Robot, emphasized that high labor costs in Hong Kong and other developed regions make robotic adoption inevitable. He called for industry collaboration with policymakers to establish Hong Kong as a "platform city" for humanoid robotics.
