Two XPeng flying cars collide at Changchun Air Show

Two XPeng AeroHT eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) collided during the Changchun Air Show on Tuesday afternoon. According to informed sources, the two flying cars made contact during flight, resulting in one aircraft crashing while the other appeared relatively undamaged.

Xpeng confirmed to media that during post-rehearsal formation exercises, two aircraft made contact due to insufficient flight spacing. One aircraft landed normally while the other sustained damage and caught fire during landing. All personnel were safe, and relevant departments have completed on-site handling procedures. The specific cause is under investigation.

Xpeng AeroHT currently markets three main flying car products, including the "Land Aircraft Carrier" modular flying car with an official price of approximately 2 million yuan. The company recently announced nearly 5,000 pre-orders for this model in China, with planned deliveries starting in the second half of 2026.
