Chinese criminal gangs surge past 3,600

China has cracked down on 3,644 gang-related organizations over the past three years, 10 times the number of the previous 10 years, state media reports.

So far, 11,675 criminal gangs have also been wiped out and 237,000 criminals arrested, the state media Xinhua said.
