Woman stabbed in abdomen in Tokyo's Akasaka district

A woman in her 40s was hospitalized with stab wounds after a knife attack in Tokyo's Akasaka district on Sunday morning.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police received reports around 10:30am of an assault in the basement level of a building in Akasaka. Emergency personnel found the victim with visible knife wounds to her left abdomen and hand.

The woman remained conscious while being transported to hospital for emergency treatment. The male assailant fled immediately after the attack, prompting police to cordon off the area and launch a manhunt.
