Coach accident in Thailand leaves 7 dead and over 30 injuries

A coach collided with a 12-wheeler truck in Prachinburi, Thailand on Monday, resulting in seven fatalities and over 30 injuries.

The tragic accident occurred on Highway 304 at 1.30am when the tour bus, en route to Rayong province, rear-ended the truck. The significant force of the impact caused the 12-wheeler to crash into a 10-wheeler truck in front of it.

Authorities discovered seven bodies aboard the coach following a subsequent fire. 

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Police speculate that a potential failure of the braking system may have led to the accident.

One survivor reported that many passengers were asleep at the time of the crash and indicated that the driver was struggling to maintain control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid collisions with other cars on the highway.

Witnesses observed that the coach struck a traffic barrier before colliding with the truck.

Another fatal accident happened on the same highway in February, when a coach was overturned on the roadside and resulting in 19 deaths and more than 30 injuries.
