Wuhan bans all residents from leaving in desperate move to halt deadly virus from spreading

Authorities in China's Hubei province will not allow the 11 million residents to leave the city of Wuhan which is at the center of a deadly virus epidemic, from 10:00 a.m. today, as  deaths soar and the disease rages within the country and beyond its borders. 

State media said train stations and the airport will shut down. The city bus, subway, ferry and long-distance shuttle bus will also be temporarily closed, the People's Daily tweeted, citing the local authorities.

The desperate measures appear to hint that China's has lost control of the deadly disease spread. 

Seven new cases of Wuhan coronavirus had been confirmed in Shanghai as of midnight, local health authorities said in the morning today.
