Water sports are finally back as Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club raised the curtain of the 2020-21 sailing season, with the opening event held over the weekend.
Open to all of Hong Kong's keelboat sailors, the Autumn Regatta attracted 101 boats and more than 550 sailors across seven classes, which is designated a Clean Regatta by nonprofit Sailor for the Sea.
Saturday races were canceled due to weather, but day two of the event was held under a clear blue sky.
Big Boats were sent on 1.5 to 2 lap races between Shau Kei Wan and Hung Hom. Other classes were sent on 1 or 1.5 laps between Tai Koo Shing and Hung Hom.
Ambush came first in the Big Boat class, May 13 clinched the title for the one-design class and Ironman was crowned champion in the Sportsboat class.
