The Hong Kong Observatory said it will assess whether to issue tropical cyclone warning signals on Tuesday or Wednesday as Tropical Cyclone Narra approaches the region.
The weather agency said Narra is expected to linger over the vicinity of Beibu Wan over the next two days, before tracking slowly northeastward from late Monday to Tuesday and edging close to the Leizhou Peninsula.
The Observatory will closely monitor the storm’s path and local wind conditions to determine whether any warning signals are needed.
Increased showers, squally thunderstorms, and windy conditions across parts of the city are forecast over the next two to three days.
Meanwhile, Tropical Cyclone Gaenari near Taipei has moved within 800 kilometers of Hong Kong. With a weak intensity and small circulation, it poses little direct threat to the city and is expected to gradually dissipate over the Taiwan Strait over the next two days.
Members of the public are reminded to stay tuned to the latest weather updates.
