Passengers traveling through Hung Hom Station on the Tuen Ma Line will need to change to the opposite platform on February 1 and March 8, as the MTR carries out follow-up works for track diversion between Hung Hom and East Tsim Sha Tsui stations.
The MTR said on Thursday that special service arrangements will be implemented on the two days, although the Tuen Ma Line will maintain normal train frequencies.
Chan Chi-hung, head of line group management for the company's Tuen Ma line, light rail and buses, said all trains departing from Tuen Mun or Wu Kai Sha will terminate at Hung Hom Station on the two days. Passengers continuing their journeys will need to cross to the opposite platform to board another train.

He said trains on both platforms will arrive alternately, and passengers will only need to wait briefly before transferring. Commuters are advised to allow a few extra minutes for the platform change.
Chan said staff will be stationed on Hung Hom Station platforms holding signboards indicating train directions to help passengers identify the correct platform. More than 150 additional staff will also be deployed at Hung Hom Station and along the Tuen Ma Line to assist passengers.
He explained that the works will begin after the end of service on the night of January 31. Due to the complexity of the project, the works must be carried out over two “golden two-hour” windows after service hours. During the period between the two work windows, including the whole day on February 1, the affected section will be closed and can only operate on a single track.
Chan said multiple checkpoints have been built into the planning process to ensure the works are completed as scheduled. If any unforeseen situation arises that may affect services on February 2, the MTR will announce it as early as possible and notify passengers.
