At about 9am today, a man entered the claw machine shop located at Ho King Commercial Building and repeatedly inserted a metal ruler through gaps in the machines to hook and drop target plush toys to the exit.
He then quickly grabbed the fallen toys and placed them into a large tote bag before leaving.
Surveillance footage circulating online shows the suspect arrived well-prepared, wearing a cap, glasses, a mask, and gloves.
He targeted multiple machines, retrieved the ruler from his bag, and skillfully maneuvered it to dislodge the dolls.
His full disguise and practiced technique suggest he may be a repeat offender.
The shop owner only discovered the theft upon returning and reported that several Jellycat plush toys, valued at approximately HK$2,000, were taken.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
