A driver lost control of his pig-carrying truck and crashed into a convenience store in Central on Tuesday, leaving one customer injured.
The incident occurred around 8.30am when the driver had unloaded at the intersection of Lyndhurst Terrace and Gage Street and was ready to drive away.
The medium-sized truck experienced a brake failure, causing it to roll forward uncontrollably and collide with the store.
The convenience store's glass door and signage were severely damaged in the crash.
A male customer fell while attempting to flee, sustaining a bleeding abrasion on his forehead. He was taken to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.
The driver passed a breathalyzer test and remained at the scene to assist with the investigation.
Due to the accident, the only traffic lane on Gage Street between Lyndhurst Terrace and Peel Street was temporarily closed.
