Police raided multiple premises in Mong Kok on Thursday, dismantling an illegal gambling operation on Nathan Road and arresting three people.
During the anti-crime operation codenamed "LEVINGTON," officers from Mong Kok District Crime Unit, License Unit and Police Dog Unit inspected 14 venues including nightclubs, saunas, billiard rooms, mahjong parlors, game centers and bars.
The operation uncovered a suspected illegal fishing game gambling den inside a Nathan Road building. Police confiscated two gaming machines and arrested a 65-year-old local man for "managing a gambling establishment."
A 56-year-old local man and a 54-year-old local woman were also arrested from the same premises for "gambling in a gambling establishment."
The 65-year-old suspect has been charged with one count of "managing a gambling establishment," while the other two face individual charges of "gambling in a gambling establishment." Their case will be heard at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts on Friday.
