Woman caught stealing food from Lam Tin supermarket by staff

A 53-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stealing food items worth approximately HK$300 from a supermarket in Lam Tin on Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 3pm at a supermarket in Sceneway Plaza. Staff detained the woman after discovering she had paid for only three items while attempting to leave with nine additional unpaid food products totaling HK$304.6.

Police arrested the suspect, surnamed Tang, on suspicion of shop theft. Online photos showed the woman wearing a cap and carrying a reusable bag filled with groceries. She reportedly resisted briefly when confronted by staff before being restrained.
