(Video) Typhoon Wipha detaches scaffoldings at Braemar Hill

Typhoon Wipha, which prompted the Observatory to issue Hurricane Signal No. 10 for the first time since Super Typhoon Saola in 2023, resulted in the detachment of scaffolding as it passed near Hong Kong on Sunday.

At approximately 9am, scaffolding became dislodged from the Sky Scraper located at Braemar Hill, and a segment of the scaffolding obstructed traffic on Tin Hau Temple Road. Four vehicles were damaged due to the fallen scaffolding; however, it is fortunate that there were no reported injuries associated with the incident.

In addition, scaffolding at various construction sites across the city, including locations on Siu Sai Wan Road and Wah Fu North, were also damaged due to the hurricane-force wind brought by Wipha.

Separately, a panda sculpture was found damaged in Tseung Kwan O under the strong wind.
