Japan ready to take decisive action against speculative FX moves, finance minister says

Japan stands ready to take decisive action on “all fronts” against speculative moves in the oil and exchange-rate markets, Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said on Friday.

“Speculative moves are heightening in the crude oil, oil futures and currency markets,” Katayama told parliament.

“I have been saying that we’re ready to take decisive action, although I cannot say what exactly we will do and when,” Katayama told parliament, when asked about the yen’s recent declines.
