Nvidia CEO Huang regrets not investing more in Musk's xAI

Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang said he regrets not investing more in Elon Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI, calling it a missed opportunity.

Huang's comments came in a CNBC interview where he was questioned about Nvidia's reported involvement in financing xAI's latest fundraising round. 

When asked if such deals represented "circular financing" – where Nvidia backs startups that become customers for its chips – Huang expressed strong support for xAI's funding efforts.

"The only regret I have about xAI – we're an investor already – is that I didn't give him more money," Huang said.

He praised Musk's track record of building transformative companies, stating, "Almost everything Elon's part of, you really want to be part of as well."

Huang described xAI as part of a new wave of AI firms, alongside OpenAI and Anthropic, that are reshaping the computing industry. 

He noted that after years of operating at a loss, the technology has recently become commercially viable.
