Hong Kong stocks trim losses amid mixed tech performance

Hong Kong stocks narrowed losses to 0.12 percent by noon on Monday under a mixed performance of tech shares.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index recorded 23,662 points as of midday, down by 27 points.

The main board turnover was HK$127.48 billion.

The indicator once dropped to 23,531 points in the morning session.

The Hang Seng Tech Index slid 0.21 percent, or 12 points, to 5,627 points.

Alibaba (9988) edged up 0.54 percent to HK$131.40, as Tencent (0700) dropped 0.59 percent to HK$508.50, and Meituan (3690) lost 2.98 percent to HK$162.60.

BYD (1211) gained 0.41 percent to HK$393.20, while Nio (9866) slid 4.74 percent to HK$34.20.

CK Hutchison (0001) climbed 3.47 percent to HK$44.75.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.25 percent, or 8 points, to 3,356 points, and the Shenzhen Component Index lost 40 points, or 0.38 percent, to 10,647.
