The conflict was initiated by one passenger's bag occupying a vacant seat. According to Beijing police on Monday (Feb 17), a 36-year-old passenger, surnamed Li, moved the bag of a 41-year-old passenger, surnamed Zhang, to take the seat.
Zhang escalated the situation by slapping Li's face and pushing him out of his seat. In response, Li retaliated by returning to the seat and hitting her back.
The altercation ended when other passengers stepped in and tried to separate the duo.
