Long queues at testing centers amid dance group infection fear

Long queues were seen at Henry G Leong Yaumatei Community Centre today, with people waiting to get tested after the government gazetted that people who have visited 14 dance premises must undergo Covid-19 tests.

With the “dance cluster” already recorded over 80 confirmed cases, citizens flocked to community testing centers to get themselves tested.

Some citizens said they have been queuing for two hours already, saying the arrangement is not ideal. Some say although they did not go to the 14 dance premises, they still wanted to get checked for safety.

Staff are holding signs at the centers to instruct people from the dance groups to go into a separate line for testing.

According to the notice gazetted by the government, anyone who went to any of the 14 venues from November 1 to yesterday must take the virus test by Tuesday. They must then submit their test results to the government via phone, fax or email by Friday.
