An online radio host and his wife have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and funding secessionist activities, according to a post on his Facebook page.

The post, written by the page administrator, said the presenter Giggs and his wife were taken away by officers this morning. His internet radio station D100 will have to suspend his programs until further notice.

The arrests were said to be linked to a fundraising campaign to support young protesters to live and study in Taiwan.

Giggs's colleague, Siring Li Wei-ling, also confirmed the arrests on her personal Facebook page. She added the presenter was brought to the North Point Police Station, while his wife was in the Central Police District Headquarters. Both were assisted by their lawyers.
