Primary and secondary students will have the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Palace Museum for free on four Saturdays and Sundays this month and next month.

The museum is offering a total of 8,000 complimentary special exhibition tickets for young minds to explore cultural artifacts from around the world.

The free admission days for students are scheduled for September 21 and 22, as well as October 12 and 13, with a maximum of 2,000 complimentary tickets available each day.

Registration for the tickets will open at noon today through Cityline - the museum's official ticketing partner.

Full-time local primary and secondary school students who successfully register for these designated days can access all thematic exhibitions in galleries 1 to 7, as well as the special exhibition galleries 8 and 9.

The complimentary tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with each registration allowing for a maximum of two tickets, valid for single admission only.

Successful registrants must present valid proof of their full-time student status upon entry.

A concession ticket for full-time students typically costs HK$110 for access to all nine galleries at the HKPM.

The free admission days for students are part of the "Art Journey for Youth at HKPM," jointly sponsored by the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation and the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation.

The museum said that since the 2022/23 school year, over 80,000 students and teachers have benefited from this initiative.

Students will also have the chance to visit the special exhibition titled "The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery 1770-1910 from the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Paris" in Gallery 9, which concludes on October 14.

In collaboration with the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, this exhibition showcases the evolution of fashion in France, highlighting the dynamic interplay of cultures that have shaped it. Nearly 400 items, including clothing, jewelry, and accessories dating from the late 18th to the early 20th century, will be featured in this gallery.
