Americans protesting police brutality in the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis seem to have taken a leaf out of the Umbrella Movement's book. The protesters were seen parading their views in several cities under the cover of umbrellas.
Protesters have demonstrated dozens of ways to use umbrellas that have nothing to do with rain.
They can be a form of camouflage to cover faces because people and spy cameras are taking pictures left, right and center.
When the police show up, the umbrellas offer protection from pepper spray, and when rubber bullets start to fly, they may help deflect them.
