The Transport Department (TD) on Friday issued a public alert regarding fraudulent websites impersonating the official HKeToll electronic toll collection platform.

The department stated that scam operators are attempting to deceive users into making payments and disclosing credit card information through these fake sites.

Authorities stressed that these fraudulent websites have no connection whatsoever with the genuine HKeToll system. The matter has been referred to police for investigation.

The TD emphasized that all toll payments should only be made through the official HKeToll website or mobile application.

The public is being urged to exercise extreme caution when receiving unsolicited messages and to avoid visiting suspicious websites or sharing personal information.

Anyone who may have inadvertently provided personal details to these fraudulent sites is advised to contact police immediately.
