HK confirms 18 Covid cases today, three infections with untraceable source

Three local infections with untraceable source have been confirmed by the Centre of Health Protection today.

The Centre said as of 12am today,  it has recorded 18 additional confirmed coronavirus cases – 15 imported and three local – bringing the tally to 5,408 cases, including one probable case.

A 23-year-old female Baptist University student was among the three local infections today. She lives in Ming Wai Building in Tuen Mun.

She had stayed at Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour hotel on November 4 and Royal Plaza Hotel on October 30 for staycations during her incubation and infection period.

She also had Taekwondo training at multiple sports centers, including Pei Ho Street Sports Centre in Sham Shui Po, Po On Road Sports Centre in Cheung Sha Wan, Shun Lee Tsuen Sports Centre in Kwun Tong and Cheung Do Kwan Taekwondo school in One Island South.

Classrooms she had been to in Baptist Univeristy will be closed for disinfection, classes conducted in those classrooms will be changed to online lessons. Some classmates considered close contact will have to be put under quarantine.

The three also include a 76-year-old retired man who lives in Block9, Kwai Shing West Estate in Kwai Fong. He usually hangs out at Tsuen Wan Park and Dundas Street Sitting Out Area. He had been to Gold Garden Restaurant in Mong Kok.

The third local case is a 44-year-old male taxi driver who lives in Block 7, Parc City. He is also a project manager at Grandtech Centre in Sha Tin. He has often dined at Mixian Sense at Citywalk in Tsuen Wan.
