HK reports lowest increase in daily virus cases in nearly a month

Hong Kong has reported the lowest increase in daily confirmed coronavirus cases in nearly a month today.

Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said there have been 33 additional confirmed cases as at midnight, taking the tally to 4,182, which includes one probable case.

One is imported and the rest are locally infected. Among the 32 local cases, 17 are linked to previous cases and source of infection for 15 others are still unknown.

The Hospital Authority said there are so far 3,052 recoveries after 135 more patients were discharged, and 58 fatalities.

Among the 988 confirmed patients staying in public hospitals, Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village and Community Treatment Facility in the AsiaWorld-Expo, 32 are critical, 61 are serious and the rest are stable, said Chief Manager of Patient Safety and Risk Management, Dr Sara Ho.

The occupancy rate of negative pressure beds and wards are 65 percent and 74 percent, respectively.
