South Korea plans joint UNESCO bid with North Korea for taekwondo as intangible heritage
South Korea’s Korea Heritage Service announced Monday it has selected taekwondo as the next candidate for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Intangible Cultural Heritage list, aiming for a joint or expanded application with North Korea.
