With great efforts from both the local and international community regarding environmental protection, the public has become more and more aware of the importance in making sustainable decisions. As an integral part of its corporate commitment to sustainability, Link Sustainability Lab, a sustainability education and collaboration platform, has launched a new theme, entitled “Loop to Last- Unveiling the Circular Economy”.

Since its opening in April last year, the Lab has been well received by the public, clocking up more than 240,000 visitors to date. Being the third in a series, the new theme aims at educating visitors about the circular economy, covering a wide range of topics including overpackaging, sustainable fashion, marine litter, recycling of e-waste, waste to energy, and nature-based solutions.

Additionally, the Lab is a space where Link aims to drive community collaboration to work towards sustainability. Link not only curated the circular economy content in consultation with the Environmental Protection Department, but has also worked with non-governmental organizations, social enterprises, and tertiary education institutions to offer more than 100 thematic workshops to members of the public free of charge in the coming months.

“Besides setting up the Link Sustainability Lab, Link has done a lot in the past years to encourage different stakeholders to reduce waste, such as telling our merchants not to use disposable cutlery, but to use those made with environmentally friendly materials. To support government’s promotion on electric cars, Link has also enhanced the number of electric vehicle chargers in our malls,” says Lorraine Chan, Managing Director, Corporate Affairs, Link Asset Management Limited.

Link aims to foster even closer collaboration among its stakeholders, including customers, tenants, suppliers, business partners, industry peers and others in the community, making Link’s properties ideal places for people from all walks of life to learn and explore sustainability solutions.
