With healthcare reform being part of Hong Kong’s 2025 Policy Address, there is an increased focus on data and statistics surrounding wellness. Research indicates that noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart disease and diabetes are responsible for 74% of all global deaths, with stroke being the second leading cause of global death. According to the Hong Kong Population Health Survey 2020-22, 43.2% of persons aged 15 or above live with chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. It could also lead to long-lasting sequelae should they worsen, such as dementia, moderate to severe disabilities, as well as increasing psychosocial burdens on both patient and caregiver.

Mr. Sunny Ip, Deloitte China Consulting Partner, shared the findings of the survey report titled “Hong Kong People's Awareness, Behavioral Patterns, and Support Expectations for ‘Preventive Healthcare’”.
Preventive healthcare begins with healthy daily habits. In a survey report shared by Deloitte, titled “Hong Kong People’s Awareness, Behavioural Patterns, and Support Expectations for ‘Preventative Healthcare’”, over 70% respondents expressed a strong confidence in wellness technology, with the top three specific products in a sample size of 1,004 HK residents being personalised nutrition plans (42%), AI fitness coaching (41%), and mental health technology (37%). The results coincided with the explosive growth in data-driven preventive wellness, marking a significant shift from reactive treatment to proactive, personalised healthcare. Mr. Sunny Ip, Deloitte China Consulting Partner, expressed the use of AI technology in creating further opportunities for more personalised and holistic clinical care through improved detection, leading to better patient care and outcomes that can also ease the burden on public healthcare resources.
The survey report also highlighted several challenges faced by Hong Kong citizens when it comes to fitness, such as a lack of clear guidance and a scarcity of resources. Some respondents, despite spending more than $500 on wellness every month, only exercise three times or less in a week. Others faced financial constraint, having to turn to broad general plans and advice that may not fulfill personal needs. To bridge the gap between awareness and action, Deloitte shared digital alternatives that could bypass systematic barriers to care. Using a combination of wearables and deep data integration, health tech could assist in creating personalised and dynamic plans that could lead to daily action for everyone.
Ms. Miranda Wong, Co-founder, LIVE4WELL, introduced their AI wellness concept.

Ms. Miranda Wong, Co-founder, LIVE4WELL, displayed the LIVE4WELL app that allows citizens to take greater ownership of their health and enables an early identification of health risks.
The event also introduced LIVE4WELL, an AI-driven health management platform focused on proactive self-health management, which is dedicated to helping raise awareness about proactive self-health management. Led by AI-driven health technology, the LIVE4WELL app offers its VIV Pass, which allows users to earn rewards through exercise and movement. The rewards are counted in the form of “Sweat Point”, which can be exchanged on the app’s WELLshop for wellness items such as supplements, gear, and electronics.
Ms. Miranda Wong, co-founder of LIVE4WELL, stated, “LIVE4WELL empowers the public to practice the concept of ‘preventative healthcare’, marking a milestone of ‘Wellness 3.0’. We firmly believe that prevention is better than cure, and that preventive healthcare is an irreversible future trend. Therefore, we have transcended traditional passive medical models by integrating AI technologies with health management, transforming vast health data into personalised solutions. This helps citizens take greater ownership of their health and enables an early identification of health risks. Through building an AI wellness ecosystem, we hope to truly integrate preventive healthcare into daily life, contributing to a healthier city.”
What sets LIVE4WELL apart from simply searching online for workout plans or potential symptoms? Well, there is nothing more definitive than numbers—the platform utilises AI technology to translate complex data into personalised, actionable plans for each user. Through AI-driven coaching and personalised optimisation, the VIV Pass allows users to conduct regular wellness assessments and generate health reports through leveraging AI insights. While the application is not a substitute for a medical report, it can provide personalised risk assessments and early disease detection, as well as help users to continuously monitor their health by formulating customised improvement programs that specifically target individual needs. In the future, it will also collaborate with advanced smart wearables to assist in early intervention through genomics.

The event included “Body Composition Analysis”, “30-Second AI retinal imaging” and “3D postural scanning”, allowing participants to experience “self-health management”.

The event featured several AI health devices, including the highlight “AI Fitness Test”, which used AI motion capture technology for real-time analysis to comprehensively score participants’ fitness performance.
