Hong Kong stocks hit a two-month high on Tuesday, with the main board turnover reaching HK$315.2 billion at a two-and-a-half-month peak.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose by 239 points, or 0.9 percent, to 26,848 points.
The tech gauge once topped 6,000 points before closing 0.11 percent higher at 5,869 points.
The tech sectors delivered mixed performance. Alibaba (9988) rose nearly 4 percent, while Xiaomi (1210) dropped 2 percent.
Artificial intelligence-related stocks failed to extend gains on Tuesday, with Knowledge Atlas Technology (2513), or Zhipu AI, and MiniMax (0100) diving 12 percent and 8 percent, respectively.
WUXI AppTec (2359) surged over 8 percent after expecting its profit to double, marking the best performance among blue chips
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index inched down by 0.64 percent at 4,138 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index declined 1.37 percent to 14,169 points.
