The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force announced on Thursday that they have arrested a 46-year-old man and confiscated two katanas, three compound bows, and a dozen arrows from a Kowloon flat, while separately charging two others with plotting to incite riots.
The operation unfolded on October 29 when officers searched the unit in Kowloon, leading to the seizure of the weapons.
The 46-year-old suspect remains in custody on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons with intent, an offense that carries a potential penalty of up to HK$5,000 in fines and two years behind bars.
Meanwhile, two local men aged 32 and 34, nabbed two days earlier on October 28, face joint charges of conspiracy to incite riot, with the younger one also accused of incitement to riot.
Their case was set for an initial hearing this afternoon at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests cannot be ruled out.
