The Standard is proud to announce it is once again organising the Liberal Studies Writing Competition. This is a chance for students to express their thoughts on things happened in their daily lives as well as improve their writing skills. Not only will their English essays be polished throughout the competition, students are also encouraged to research and respond to hot news and social affairs so as to improve their confidence on learning Liberal Studies. This year, we are expanding the competition to include a section for primary school students. In addition to awarding prizes to students for good written work, the schools that submit the most entries will also be awarded a prize. Well-written essays will be published every day in The Student Standard and the Junior Standard. The students that have their work published will be automatically entered in the final to compete for the Grand Champion trophy and also the chance to win fabulous prizes

Student awards

All participants will be divided into two sections: Primary school and Secondary school. The ten best pieces of writing from each section will be selected to compete for the Grand Champion, First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up prizes. There are two submission deadlines depending on which Liberal Studies category the students wish to write about (refer to the submission schedule below).

School awards

As well as rewarding students for good written work, the schools that have a high participation from their students will also be recognised. The school with the most competition entries throughout the whole competition will be awarded the School Champion prize in each section. We sincerely invite all teachers to encourage their students to actively participate in the competition.
