All local primary and secondary schools students

|
All entries must be submitted either online or in paper format (A4) by post

Writing Limit
|
Primary school section: 120 words
Secondary school section: 300 words
|
|
Judging criteria
|
Knowledge of the subjects; Displays a critical-thinking mind; Logic (flow of writing); Originality; Ability to arouse reader's interest; Fluency; Written quality (grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, etc.)

Adjudication
|
A panel of adjudicators that will include Legco member Claudia Mo, Hong Kong based author and columnist Nury Vittachi and The Standard's Editor-in-Chief Ivan Tong.
|
|
Submission period
|
There are two submission periods throughout the competition from 1 Decmber 2012 to 30 April 2013. For each period, the five best pieces of writing will be selected from each section to compete for the awards.

|
All details must be filled if applying online. If by mail, a valid competition entry form must be completed and enclosed. For details, see Terms and Regulations #3 on submission page.
