Motorcycle bursts into flames in To Kwa Wan, rider escapes unhurt

A motorcycle erupted in flames in To Kwa Wan early Wednesday morning, forcing the rider to flee as the bike was engulfed in fire.

The incident occurred around 1am when the motorcycle was traveling along the middle lane of Ma Tau Wai Road towards Kowloon City. Near Tin Kwong Road, the bike suddenly emitted smoke and caught fire.

The rider immediately abandoned the vehicle and escaped. The motorcycle was quickly engulfed in flames, sending thick black smoke into the air and alarming nearby residents who called police.

Firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze. Preliminary investigations found no suspicious circumstances. No injuries were reported.

The motorcycle, a Honda 600RR about 19 years old, was reduced to a charred frame. All lanes on that section of Ma Tau Wai Road were temporarily closed, causing traffic delays.
