Nasdaq turns lower; Dow, S&P gain
(10-20 23:41)
The Nasdaq composite index turned negative on Monday as concern about technology spending sunk shares, including Research In Motion.

The maker of the BlackBerry was down more than 8 percent to US$54.08 (HK$421.82).

But a rise in shares of energy companies helped push the Dow and S&P 500 higher.

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 80.28 points, or 0.91 percent, at 8,932.50. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 8.52 points, or 0.91 percent, at 949.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 6.89 points, or 0.40 percent, at 1,704.40.
