Suspicious object detonated in MTR

Police detonated a suspicious object inside a busy MTR station this afternoon after they received a report of an object with wires and tubes attached found on top of a public phone booth inside the station.

Exits D, E and F of Causeway Bay station were closed but Exit F was reopened at 5.30pm for passengers to leave the station.

Police received the report around 3.45pm.

Fire services went to the station on standby and the bomb disposal team detonated the object at around 5.20pm.
Investigation is ongoing according to police.
