A male hiker was airlifted to hospital after collapsing during his trek in Ma On Shan on Thursday morning.
Shortly before 8 am today, a man was hiking along the Ma On Shan Fresh Water Service Reservoir when he suddenly fainted and sprained his leg.
A passing hiker who saw him immediately reported the incident.
Paramedics were alerted, and the Government Flying Service was deployed to rescue him.
The man regained consciousness and was airlifted to Eastern Hospital for medical attention.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation. It is suspected that the man lost consciousness after suffering from a medical episode.
