The Jumbo Kingdom floating restaurant, a tourist drawcard for decades, is shutting down from tomorrow. It did not say when it will reopen.

The restaurant operator, Melco International Development, says it is suspending operations of the restaurant "until further notice'' because it had been adversely impacted by the coronavirus epidemic in Hong Kong.

In 2002, Jumbo Kingdom started operating under Melco International Development and became a member of Melco’s Leisure & Entertainment unit. Renovation, refurbishment and improvement projects were carried out in late 2003 to refine image of Jumbo Kingdom.
The three-level 'floating' restaurant is the idea of Macau casino pioneer Stanley Ho Hung-sun.
