Marco Asensio scored his first hat-trick for Real Madrid against boyhood club Mallorca in a 6-1 win that sent his side top of La Liga.

Karim Benzema capitalized on an early Mallorca mistake at the Santiago Bernabeu before three goals in five minutes put Madrid 3-1 ahead, two Asensio strikes coming either side of a curling effort from Mallorca's Lee Kang In.

Asensio completed his treble with a curling shot in the second half and went off to a big ovation, leaving Benzema to add his second and Isco to tap in Madrid's sixth.

Benzema's second goal was his 200th in La Liga, only the 10th player to reach the milestone.

Asensio, who joined Mallorca aged 10 but went to Real in 2016, did not celebrate his goals.

In Italy, Juventus had a first Serie A win of the season at the fifth attempt, winning 3-2 at Spezia.

In France, a late goal from Achraf Hakimi gave Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 win at bottom club Metz and maintained a 100-percent start to the Ligue 1 season.
