Verstappen out to foil Hamilton bid for win No 100

At 36, Lewis Hamilton can become the first Formula 1 driver to win 100 races, but world championship leader Max Verstappen, 23, intends to be the one celebrating in Hungary on Sunday.

Mercedes' Hamiiton has won eight times at the Hungaroring - a record he shares with fellow seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher for most wins at the same GP.

Hamilton's 99th victory, at his home British Grand Prix 10 days ago after a first-lap collision with Red Bull's Verstappen, turned up the heat on the title battle and added acrimony. Both teams must now attend a cool-it meeting with stewards after Red Bull sought a review of the decision to hand Hamilton only a 10-second penalty for causing the accident at Silverstone.

If Hamilton were to win at the Hungaroring with Verstappen second, they would sign off for the summer level on points and wins.
