Five NBA players met with Pope Francis at the Vatican to discuss social justice issues following a season where combating racial inequality was a dominant theme.
"The meeting was an incredible experience," said Memphis Grizzlies forward Anthony Tolliver.
He was joined by Kyle Korver and Sterling Brown of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jonathan Isaac of the Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs' Marco Belinelli as well as players union executive director Michele Roberts.
The meeting validated the power of the players' voices, Roberts said. She hailed their "continued commitment to serve and support our community."
