Durant injury mars crucial Warriors win over RocketsSports | 10 May 2019
Golden State pulled out a 104-99 victory over the Houston Rockets as the Warriors survived the loss of superstar Kevin Durant to grab a 3-2 lead in their NBA Western Conference semi-final series.
Draymond Green and Klay Thompson hit clutch three-pointers late in the game for the Warriors but the buzz afterwards was not about the win but the health of Durant.
Durant suffered a right calf strain after landing awkwardly following a shot in the third quarter. He finished with 22 points.
"Excited about the win but concern for Kevin," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "He had been on this incredible playoff run."
Thompson finished with 27 points and Stephen Curry 25. James Harden led Houston with 31 points.
In the East, the Milwaukee Bucks became the first team to reach the conference finals as they beat the visiting Boston Celtics 116-91 for a 4-1 series win. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
