China's Wang Yafan rallied to win her first WTA title, defeating American Sofia Kenin 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 to claim the Mexico Open crown.

World No 65 Wang, playing in her first Tour singles final, took two hours ans 10 minutes to beat the 35th-ranked American.

The 24-year-old from Nanjing took a 2-1 lead in the final set by taking advantage of her third break-point chance in the game.

Wang surrendered a break on her fourth double fault to allow Kenin to equalize at 3-3. But she reeled off the last four points of the 11th game to break Kenin for 5-3 and then held serve for the triumph. "This is my first time in Acapulco, and I really like it here," Wang said. "It was an amazing week."

In the ATP final, Australian Nick Kyrgios beat world No 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany 6-3, 6-4.

In women's doubles, Victoria Azarenka teamed up with China's Zheng Saisai to beat third seeds Guiiana Olmos and Desirae Krawczyk 6-1, 6-2.
