Hotshot Bhullar hits Macau jackpot again

Sports | 23 Oct 2017

India's Gaganjeet Bhullar overcame an opening bogey in the final round to win the Macao Open for the second time in his career.

The 29-year-old closed with a three- under-par 68 in windy conditions to finish on 13-under 271, giving him a three- shot victory and his eighth Asian Tour title at the Macau Golf and Country Club.

"I was absolutely blank after the bogey on the first hole," Bhullar said, "After that I just stuck to my plan and took my opportunities."

Bhullar took home a winner's prize purse of US$90,000 (HK$702,186) after becoming only the third player to win the event twice. Australian Scott Hend (2013 and 2015) and China's Zhang Lianwei (2001-2002) are the other two-time winners.

Filipino ace Angelo Que fired a 69 to share second place with India's Ajeetesh Sandhu, who carded a 70.
