BTS tattoo post lands MP in troubleWorld | AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE 11 Jun 2021
A South Korean MP apologized yesterday after provoking fury among BTS fans by using pictures of tattooed singer Jungkook to promote liberalizing the country's inking laws.
Ryu Ho Jeong of the progressive minor Justice party is proposing a bill that will allow tattooists to be legally certified.
She uploaded pictures of Jungkook to her social media, saying: "Have you seen your favorite celebrities covered in bandages on their bodies? This hideous sight is the result of television stations' regulations on tattoos."
Following accusations of dragging the singer into politics, Ryu said she'd "like to apologize if anyone is offended."
