After 9.8m tests, Wuhan 'safest city' in ChinaWorld | AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE 3 Jun 2020
Authorities have tested almost 10 million people for coronavirus in just over two weeks in Wuhan. And only a few hundred positive cases were found.
While officials claim to have the virus under control, authorities launched the program after new infections emerged since Wuhan re-opened in April after more than two months in lockdown.
More than 9.8 million people were tested in the city of 11 million from May 14 to June 1, and the 300 positives were asymptomatic people. "These numbers show Wuhan is now the safest city," said Feng Zijian, deputy director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
