Modelling feels as good as fencing, gold medalist fencer Edgar Cheung Ka-long said in a shopping mall show with a fashion brand yesterday.
At a press event, Cheung shared his feelings on modelling for Dior: he felt comfortable as if he were in a fencing match.
As the brand's ambassador, the photo shoot drew mixed comments earlier, with some questioning his look and make-up. Netizens joked that he looked similar to actors Steven Ma Chun-wai and singer Andy Hui Chi-on.
Cheung said he did not pay attention to his resemblance to other celebrities. But he revealed that he sought advice from his fencing teammate Nicholas Choi Ho-yin, who was more used to modelling and doing photo shoots for brands.
Cheung said he is still adapting to public events and that he has no plan to join the entertainment industry. He will focus on athletic achievements, he said. "I am not very used to such events yet, but I am slowly adapting. I need some time to adapt as I am an athlete."
