A 35-year-old chef has hit the spot by winning a HK$10.8 million flat in Kwun Tong in the first vaccine lottery to give a brand new apartment.
The Grand Central flat is the grand prize in the lucky draw organized by the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sino Group, and Chinese Estates Holdings.
The winner, named Lee, received his prize at a presentation ceremony yesterday. He is a first-time property owner - and went to see his new home straight away.
He's renting a flat in Cheung Sha Wan at the moment.
"I never thought I'd have the luck to win the Grand Prize!" Lee said.
He said he got vaccinated in the hope of supporting economic recovery as the pandemic affects many restaurants.
"I truly believe vaccination is the most effective way to protect myself and my family, and this win is certainly a pleasant yet unexpected surprise," he said.
"I shall continue to encourage my friends and family to get vaccinated, and to prepare ourselves for returning to normality and travel again."
